10 Most Ridiculous Stunts In Fast And The Furious Movies

8. Safe Heist (Fast Five)

Fast Five was also when the gang saw the error of their ways and realised instead of stealing from legit companies, they should rob from super-rich criminals instead.

The movie’s climax takes them to Rio de Janeiro, where they attempt to steal the money inside the vault owned by Reyes, the city’s ruthless drug lord. Rather than waste time with a safe-cracker on-site however, the team simply hook up the vault to chains attached to their Dodge Chargers, then make off with the humongous payload laying waste to the streets of Rio.

The ‘wrecking ball’ vault, despite its weight seemingly making it impossible to pull, takes out a number of bad guy cars and a bank full of people.

Despite its insanity, this stunt was actually performed for real, with several drivable prop vaults built at eight feet tall and weighing in at several tonnes. One shot also required the vault to tumble across the road, and it was way more destructive than the stunt team expected.

All in all, the stunt vault sequence has a hefty rap sheet, having totalled a whopping 200 cars in the process.
