10 Most Ridiculous Turksploitation Movie Rip-offs Ever

1. Turkish Wizard Of Oz (1971)

Renkli

This 1971 undertaking has a lot to offer – it takes Turkish Dorothy to Oz, where things take a sharp turn towards weird territories, full with wacky dancing, a group of dwarfs dressed as toy solders, a fabulous scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Lion (a fat guy in a pair of brown jammies with hair glued on to it) including special effects that look like they could have been made by a five year old.

The actress who plays the character of Dorothy, Zeynep Degirmencioglu managed to make a name for herself by being the go-to for various Turkish fairy tale adaptations including Pollyanna, Cinderella, and Snow White. But whereas Kansas Dorothy has a regular farm girl look, Turkish Dorothy looks more like a blend between snow white and your regular porn star.

Despite the contrary, Turkish Wizard of Oz has to go down in history as one of the most remarkable remakes ever made. In fact, the film (also known as “Little Ayse and the Magic Dwarves) is unapologetically reminiscent of the original - it’s as if the director had seen the original 30 years earlier and decided to put a personal spin on it.
