10 Most Ridiculous Turksploitation Movie Rip-offs Ever
2. Turkish Rambo (1986)
Not even Stallone is safe from the Turksploitation wave. Based on the second part of its American model, Rambo: First Blood Part II, Korkusuz (lit. “Fearless”) as it is commonly known in Turkey, is truly a landmark of Eighties Turkish action cinema. The film elevates beyond being a trashy film to some other sphere of absurdity altogether - rarely will you see a rocket launcher as effective as in this cult classic.
Turkish Rambo was directed by the father of Turksploitation: Cetin Inanc, and the lead role was played by none other than his favorite body builder Serdar Kebabcilar..(same guy who played Turkish Rambo) as a commando who infiltrates the hiding spot of a terrorist group just to kick ass for about an hour and half.
The action scenes in Trukish Rambo are vigorous and kinetic, full of wacky, weird stuff like characters who conveniently find ammo in the most unusual spots, just like you would expect in a Nintendo video game.
Considering the patchy editing and continuity errors, it’s hard to believe that the film actually had a re - release on DVD in the US under the title “Rampage”. In any case, it’s definitely worth seeing this epic piece of cinema, if anything, just for the rocket launcher scenes alone.
