10 Most Satisfying Disney Villains Deaths Of All Time

5. Hopper - A Bug's Life

A villain inspired by Aesop’s fables, Hopper is an archetypal bully. Voiced brilliantly by the legitimately sinister Kevin Spacey, he is among the cruellest baddies in Pixar’s canon. He has no redeeming qualities or backstory to explain his behaviour - he is simply depicted as a violent and unapologetic thug.

It’s appropriate, then, that he gets one of Disney’s most brutal deaths - captured by a bird, he is fed alive to a trio of hungry (and cute!) chicks in a nest. Unsurprisingly we cut away rather than indulging in the true gore of the grasshopper being torn limb from limb, but the scene plays out like a horror. The animators conjure a great frightening atmosphere, all crashing lightning and torrential rain. Brutality notwithstanding, it’s a great moment to see Hopper get his. A Bug’s Life is for the most part a lighthearted, rollicking adventure, with the addition of one of Pixar’s nastiest antagonists.

While A Bug’s Life is not one of the studio’s best remembered films, the death of Hopper is a standout moment. It’s undeniably a buzz to see this horrible character get his just desserts - though it most likely scarred a few kids, too.
