2. The Centaurs Kidnap Professor Umbridge (The Order Of The Phoenix)
Professor Umbridge is universally hated by every Harry Potter fan on the planet. Her girlish voice, false pleasantries, power complex, and sadistic tendencies are instantly hateable – there’s no part of her personality that isn’t loathsome.
Throughout Harry’s fifth year, this awful woman does her utmost to take control of the castle. In addition to the endless number of Ministry decrees, Umbridge manages to replace Albus Dumbledore as the Head of Hogwarts.
Thankfully, Umbridge gets her comeuppance towards the end of the movie when she ventures into the Forbidden Forest with Harry and Hermione. Before long, the three of them are interrupted by Hagrid’s half-brother Grawp and a herd of angry centaurs. After referring to the latter as “filthy half-breeds”, Umbridge is kidnapped and carried off into the depths of the forest.
Whilst it would have been nice to see Umbridge’s prolonged torment at the hands of the centaurs, it’s still great to experience her desperate pleas as she’s carried away. Plus, Harry and Hermione’s complete lack of compassion makes the whole situation even better.
