3. Ron Destroys The Locket - The Deathly Hallows: Part 1
The first time you watch The Deathly Hallows, skipping this scene isn’t really an option. The destruction of Voldemort’s locket is an integral part of both Ron’s arc and the hunt for the Horcruxes.
Once you’ve seen it, however, it’s a tough scene to re-watch due to the prolonged kiss between Harry and Hermione. It’s not the real Harry and Hermione – the Horcrux is just messing with Ron’s head – but this doesn’t make the scene any easier to stomach.
There are two issues with the kiss: the length, and the nudity. The camera lingers on the naked embrace of Harry and Hermione for far too long, resulting in the most inappropriate moment in the entire franchise.
Ron’s slow reaction is also strange. Rather than jumping to his feet and destroying the Horcrux immediately, he sits back and takes in the sight of his best friends making out in mid-air.
It’s a shame because this scene had so much potential. A montage of Ron’s greatest fears coming to taunt him would have been fascinating to witness.
