10 Most Twisted Characters In Modern Horror Movies

7. Michael Myers - Halloween

Unlike the vast majority of figures on this list, Michael Myers is clearly not a creation of this past decade. Still, The Shape has had two silver screen outings in the past few years - and said pair of outings involved some ludicrously gnarly kills.

Following 2018's Halloween, Michael is currently back in cinemas with Halloween Kills. From there, Haddonfield's most infamous son will return to presumably cause more chaos and carnage in next year's supposed final franchise entry, Halloween Ends.

While it's only fair to not go into too much detail where it pertains to Halloween Kills just yet, let's just say that Myers is very much at his most brutal and bloodthirsty in the second of David Gordon Green's trilogy.

As for the 2018 movie, there we saw Michael breaking necks, smashing skulls, stabbing fools and showcasing levels of swift violence rarely seen before in the prior ten Halloween movies. Of course, the '18 effort ignores all continuity bar John Carpenter's 1978 original, but this first Green-helmed Halloween even manages to top the gruesome gore of Rob Zombie's pair of pictures as The Shape was totally terrifying in that franchise recalibration.
