10 Most Twisted Characters In Modern Horror Movies

6. Charles Lee Ray - Child's Play

Again, like Michael Myers, ol' Charles Lee Ray is someone with decades of history to his name, but it's hard to overlook this rogue when examining the twisted souls of modern horror.

Of course, Charles Lee Ray is the soul who resides within the Good Guy form of Chucky.

Taking away the evil AI of Buddi from the 2019 Child's Play remake, the 2010s were a busy time from Chucky. Having laid dormant since 2004's Seed of Chucky, this Friend 'til the End got to return and cause havoc in 2013's Curse of Chucky and the Cult of Chucky picture that followed four years later.

Initially pegged as a remake, Curse smartly served as a fresh start for the franchise while also being a continuation of the five films that predated it. A rather minimal, intimate movie by Child's Play standards, that film was followed up by a truly twisted plan in Cult of Chucky.

While the main Chucky doll was decapitated and tortured by original franchise protagonist Andy Barclay in Cult, that didn't stop Charles Lee Ray from placing his spirit into a whole bunch of Good Guys, creating a literal Chucky army. Or, y'know, a Cult of Chucky.
