10 Most Underrated 2000s Horror Movies
2. Cold Prey
Functioning as a snowbound horror movie that sees Norway take on classic slasher conventions, Cold Prey is the story of a snowboarding holiday gone very, very wrong. When one friend out of a group breaks his leg out on an isolated mountaintop, they collectively decide to seek shelter at a nearby abandoned lodge rather than risk the injury on the journey back to civilisation. Only, instead of a lit hearth and a night of sleeping off the pain - the snowboarders find themselves locked in with a psychopathic killer. Jeez, you really can’t go anywhere these days without tripping over those guys.
Cold Prey is an excellent genre movie, utilising its cold and unforgiving landscape to make a terrifying experience out of what would be the norm in any other horror movie. Somehow slipping away in the wake of other slasher classics, this is one to add to your vaults if you’re a fan of pick axe wielding madness in the middle of the night. And of course you all are.
