10 Most Underrated Lightsaber Duels In Star Wars History
1. Anakin & Obi-Wan Vs. Count Dooku - Episode II: Attack Of The Clones
The Attack of the Clones is widely acknowledged as the weakest entry in the Skywalker Saga, although it certainly isn't without its high points.
One such point comes near the movie's climax, when Obi-Wan and apprentice Anakin confront Count Dooku, the Sith Lord behind the Separatist movement.
The two Jedi engage Dooku in battle, and he gracefully outmatches them without even the slightest bit of effort.
Dooku had previously been described as one of the Jedi Order's most skilful swordsmen, and while it might seem that his advanced years and distance from the Order could have dulled his skills, he is, in fact, exactly as deadly as advertised.
Anakin and Obi-Wan are only saved by the arrival of Yoda, Dooku's former Master, and the only being said to have been Dooku's superior with a lightsaber.
This scene perfectly depicts the lightsaber's beautiful and deadly nature, establishing the duels as something more art form than action. It's also a fair assumption to say that this is the moment in which a seed was planted in young Anakin's mind: that the Dark Side just might be the stronger.
