10 Most Underrated Star Wars Characters Ever
3. Count Dooku
Darth Vader is iconic and Darth Maul was under-used, however very little is said about just how cool Count Dooku is in the Star Wars universe.
A fallen Jedi before it was cool, Dooku was Yoda's student, Qui-Gon Jinn's master and, like Liam Neeson's character, saw a lot of the errors in the way the Jedi and Republic were being run. A silky smooth operator played effortlessly by Christopher Lee, Dooku was able to escape into hiding, defect to the Dark Side and begin training under Darth Sidious, and make it all the way to the rank of a Sith Lord by the time Attack Of The Clones kicks off. His curved lightsabre and eloquent manners have become some of the most iconic features of the prequel films and, minus an admittedly lousy death scene, his time on screen makes for some of the most watchable bits from the first three films.
He plays a crucial role in establishing the Separatist movement and Clone Army on Kamino, lays the path for both Boba Fett and Darth Vader and survived numerous duels against Obi-Wan, Anakin and even Yoda. It's definitely true that Maul was underused by George Lucas, but it's time to finally acknowledge that his replacement Sith Lord was equally as cool.
