There's nothing more hilarious or cringe-inducing than a group of American teenagers gallivanting across Europe. This film is about high school friends who attempt a backpacking trip the summer before they all head off to college. The lead character Scott joins up on his quest to track down his hot German penpal, who he has just realised is a girl he happens to be in love with, and his best friend tags along in hopes of having crazy European sex. Sure, the film utilises every offensive stereotype about the countries they travel through. But are you really saying you don't want to see an intense robot battle outside the Louvre between Scott and a snobbish French street performer? Because that's a lie. It may lack cultural sensitivity, but it's definitely one of the funniest teen movies of the 2000s.
