10 Most Underwhelming Horror Movie Monster Reveals

4. Asmodeus - Paranormal Activity: Next Of Kin

Due to the grainy found footage nature of the Paranormal Activity movies, it’s often quite hard to properly make out the monsters in the series. Unfortunately, you can see the baddie from the seventh film in all its underwhelming glory.

Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin is framed as a documentary made by a woman called Margot about her mother Sarah, who abandoned her as a child. Her search leads her to an Amish community, where she finds out that her bloodline carries a terrible curse.

The demon Asmodeus, who’s not very nice at all, is passed down from mother to daughter, with Sarah being the previous host. The villagers have lured Margot there to complete the chain, which she is understandably not too keen on.

Sounds like a pretty good story, right? It might have been, had Asmodeus’ big entrance not been a total blowout.

The CGI used when Asmodeus leaves Sarah’s body is painfully inadequate, like it was done on a cheap laptop in about five minutes. Considering the entire movie had been building up to this moment, it was more than a little disappointing to watch such a lacklustre arrival.
