10 Most Unnecessary Movie Deaths Ever

1. Amanda, Dan, Irene and Billy - The Mist (2007)

ending of the mist This is only unnecessary to one person; David Drayton. After hours of travelling, David and his rag tag band of survivors (including his son Billy) run out of gas and have to stop. Depressed by the fact that they haven€™t met any survivors along the way, all hope is seemingly gone and Drayton decides there is only one option left. With four bullets for five people, David shoots Amanda, Dan, Irene and finally his son. Tragic in itself, it then comes the reason for how unnecessary those murders were. Exiting the car, it is time for the horrors that lurk in the Mist to take him and free him from the agony of what he has just done. But in an almost sickening twist, the mist clears and the army show up to save the day. To kick a man HARD when he is down, he sees the one woman who walked out into the mist with her two young children at the start of the film, showing him that he really should not have worried about the mist. It hits him that he unnecessarily just shot four people, including his son, and so he falls to his knees and screams in pain. You may never want to watch this excellent film again after this nauseating end. It is so tragic that David and pals were seconds away from realizing that they were all fine, that hindsight makes this the most unnecessary, easily avoided, pointless death(s) in mainstream cinema.
