10 Most Useless MCU Villains So Far

3. Karl Mordo

Throughout the character’s history in Marvel Comics, Mordo has typically been one of Doctor Strange’s biggest rivals. There was confusion then, when the sorcerer appeared in the MCU in 2016 as an ally and mentor of the movie's titular hero.

A villainous turn was always expected, though it did come later than most would have thought. After the credits rolled on Doctor Strange, Mordo attacked Jonathan Pangborn and claimed that there were too many sorcerers in the world. As strong a tease as this was, it never really paid off.

In fact, this version of the character has since never actually returned to the MCU. The Mordo that Strange tangled with in the Multiverse of Madness was of Earth-838, leaving the Earth-616 Variant in the rearview mirror.

Strange told this new Mordo about how his own Mordo had been trying to kill him, but that was all that was mentioned. It was a passing comment. Realistically, he couldn’t have caused Strange too many problems if this was all the conversation it was worth, none of it ultimately even being shown on the screen.
