8. It's All Because Of Snickers - Jurassic World Rebirth
Jurassic Park is hardly a franchise that most will turn to for deep, intricate storytelling - where the sequels are concerned, anyway - but Jurassic World Rebirth let the audience know its precise level of dumb in basically record time.
The film kicks off with a 2008-set prologue, where an InGen genetics laboratory is brought to its knees all because one of the scientists decides to eat a Snickers bar in the middle of his shift.
The Snickers wrapper ends up dropping to the ground and getting trapped in the mechanisms of the door containing the all-powerful hybrid dinosaur known as Distortus rex, in turn allowing it to breach containment and kill the nearby scientists, setting the rest of the movie's events in motion.
Even ignoring the egregious product placement of it all, it's just a thunderously dopey way to start a movie that the filmmakers presumably wanted us to buy into the stakes of.
Stupid scientists aren't exactly a new phenomenon in sci-fi blockbusters, but rarely have they been depicted with quite this level of casual idiocy. Just... no.
