10 Movie Actors Who Did Career WORST Performances In 2020

9. Michael Peña - Fantasy Island

Michael Peña is a terrific actor and a credit to pretty much any movie he's cast in - except, perhaps, for Blumhouse's recent horror reboot of Fantasy Island.

Peña plays Mr. Roarke, the mysterious honcho who presides over Fantasy Island, a role that was originated so memorably by Ricardo Montalbán in the '70s TV series.

Sadly Peña gives an uncharacteristically flat and inert performance, failing to bring the same charisma to the fore that Montalbán did.

As much as you might've sighed at Peña wasting his talents on films like CHiPs and A Wrinkle in Time in recent years, at least he emoted substantially in both of those films.

Here he's oddly lacking in affect and, despite his considerable acting chops, can't even be called a pale shadow of Montalbán's iconic work.

To rub salt in the wound, producer Jason Blum originally wanted Nicolas Cage to play Mr. Roarke, but in a decision that will infuriate humanity until the end of time, Cage bafflingly turned it down.
