10 Movie Actors Who Did Their Best Work On TV

6. Claire Danes - Homeland

Claire Danes is a wonderful example of an actor transitioning from TV to movies, back to TV again, proving that it doesn't matter which one you lend your face to so long as your acting and performing well.

She made her name in the series My So-Called Life, then took off on the big screen thanks to flicks like Romeo + Juliet, Les Misérables and Stardust. Despite her success, it was her casting in the tense espionage thriller based on Israel's Prisoners of War that would solidify her name in the annals of history. That show was, of course, Homeland.

As Carrie Mathison, Danes proved that she was more than the charming, collected star she'd established herself as. Here was a character who felt obsessive and intense, delivering on a gruelling emotional journey that put her through hardship and struggle.

She plays the role very convincingly, painting the picture of a slightly erratic individual who feels both badass and relatable at the same time. It's the kind of performance that makes you wonder what you would do in her place and is easily her magnum opus.
