10 Movie Bands We Really Wish Were Real

8. The Soggy Bottom Boys - O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000)

Scott Pilgrim vs The World

Don’t let their name fool you, The Soggy Bottom Boys from the Coen Brothers’ O Brother, Where Art Thou sound a lot better than their name suggests.

They’re a toe-tapping folk quartet from Mississippi consisting of escaped convicts Everett (George Clooney), Delmar (Tim Blake Nelson), and Pete (John Turturro) alongside a guitarist (Chris Thomas King) they meet on the road.

Amazingly, they only record a song together in a bid to earn some quick cash. This turns our to be the best decision they'll make on their epic odyssey.

And despite never having performed together, The Soggy Bottom Boys record “Man Of Constant Sorrow”. It’s lively, upbeat, and bursting with the sort of bombastic energy that only bluesy guitar riffs and vocal harmonies can create.

Though this is the only track these boys have to their name, it became an instant hit in the film and in real life, winning a Grammy and CMA Award. The soundtrack also earned a Grammy Award for Best Album Of The Year in 2002.

We can thank the immeasurable vocal talents of folk singers Dan Tyminski, Harley Allen, and Pat Enright for this delightful earworm that gives us anything but sorrow.
