10 Movie Bromances That Were Incredibly Unhealthy

5. The Big Lebowski

TheBigLebowski-Still1 The Big Lebowski is a freewheeling, hysterical adventure of the highest order by the wildly imaginative and original Coen Brothers. The film meanders intriguingly from one bizarre moment to the next yet it is ultimately tied together by the undeniably brilliant acting just as the Dude's room is tied together by his rug. Jeff Bridges is the laconic stoner Lebowski (he prefers to be called the Dude) who embarks on a mission to claim compensation for his soiled rug. The Dude is part of a three way bromance with his bolwing buddies Walter and Donny. In keeping with the movie the relationship is definitely odd. Walter is a deranged Vietnam veteran who relates most things to his combat experiences even if they are completely unrelated. Donny is a like-able but dim fellow who says little and is usually confused by what The Dude and Walter are talking about. Walter is the type of guy who is willing to pull a gun on a rival bowler for no good reason and his sole form of dialogue to Donny is telling him to shut the fuck up. The two friends are more of a hindrance to the Dude in his exploits, and he probably realizes this, however he brings them along anyway. They are useless and unpredictable but the Dude abides all the same.
