10 Movie Characters Brought Back From The Dead In The Worst Way
1. Ellen Ripley - Alien: Ressurection
There aren't many science fiction characters more iconic than Sigourney Weaver's Ellen Ripley. Making her debut in 1976's Alien, Ripley was a pioneer for badass female protagonists, going on to lead the first four films of the franchise.
This, in spite of being killed off at the end of the third. With an alien inside of her much in the same way it was inside of Kane's (John Hurt) chest 16 years earlier, Ripley made the ultimate sacrifice during the events of Alien3 to ensure the company never got their hands on the Xenomorph specimen they had been after all along.
This fitting and seemingly final end to Ripley's character was totally undone in Alien: Resurrection. This is the second film on this list with the word Resurrection in the title, however, like with Michael Myers, this wasn't a true resurrection. Instead, Ripley had been cloned using a mix of her own DNA and the Xenomorph's, creating an entirely new character in the process.
Sometimes it is better just to let a great character stay dead.
