10 Movie Characters Brought Back From The Dead In The Worst Way

There is a rule in the comic book world that no character stays dead except for Uncle Ben. Bucky Barnes used to be such an exception until the Winter Soldier storyline in 2005, so audiences should always be open to dead characters returning in the books and on the screen.

However, that should not give movies license to bring back a character without any solid reasoning, but it would seem that it does in certain instances.

Professor X (Patrick Stewart) was a casualty of X-Men: The Last Stand, alongside Jean Grey and Scott Summers (Famke Janssen and James Marsden), but he returned in Days of Future Past following a brief post-credit scene after The Wolverine, with little to no explanation as to how.

Yes, his voice could be heard during the post-credit scene of The Last Stand, teasing that he had somehow survived, but there were never any details ever given as to how. Such ability had never been attributed to Charles in the films, and Days of Future Past delved straight into the dystopian future story without even attempting to address it.

That's a lot of faith being put in people remembering a post-credit scene from a forgettable movie eight years prior, while also being happy to essentially accept "because he can" with no further context as the reason for his survival.
