10 Movie Characters Brought Back From The Dead In The Worst Way

Coming off the back of Terminator 2: Judgement Day, widely regarded as one of the greatest sequels of all time, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is arguably the most disappointing film in what has ultimately become a disappointing franchise.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's Terminator returned, albeit as a slightly upgraded version of his T-800 form from T2, in spite of the ultimate sacrifice that said T-800 had previously made. To ensure Judgement Day never happened, the Terminator sent back to protect John Connor (Edward Furlong) melted itself in a vat of lava, so that there was no trace of anything from the future for Skynet to build from.

12 years later, however, the fact that any Terminators were able to return at all, whether in the form of Arnie or not, was a total slap in the face to the entire point of T2. That message was that there is no future but what we make of it, and Sarah Connor even had the inscription "no fate but what we make" on her grave.

The entire concept of the Terminators died with the T-800's sacrifice, only to be brought back with the baffling decision to have Judgement Day simply postponed and ultimately still happen, proving that the future is in fact set, and that nothing John and Sarah (Linda Hamilton) went through in 1991 mattered.
