4. The News Team - Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burdundy

Along with Shaun Of The Dead, 2004 saw the release of another great comedy of the decade, Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy. This time the focus of the humour was based around the bustling competitive news rooms of the 1970s. The only real danger the characters in Anchorman face for the most part is becoming victims of their own limitless stupidity - but in the final act Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) and his rival/lover Veronica (Christina Applegate) find themselves squaring off against a hungry-looking bear after falling into his pit at the local zoo. Fortunately they are saved from becoming a tasty bear meal by none other than Baxter, Burgundy's loyal pet dog who just happens to speak bearish (or whatever the correct term for bear talk is). It's a ridiculous lucky escape, completely fitting for the ridiculously amusing tone of the movie.
