7. Alex Browning - Final Destination 2
Alex Browning was the protagonist of Final Destination and was played by Devon Sawa. After he experienced a horrifying premonition, he warned his classmates and boarded off Flight 180. By doing so, the cast of teens cheated Death which led to deadly consequences. One by one, the survivors were killed in gruesome and inventive ways.
In a genre where the protagonist was usually female, Alex stood out as one of the few male ones. Devon Sawa also gave the character a lot of vulnerability and depth. Browning was written as cautious and he tried to solve the mystery of Death's design. He figured out the order of the accidents while finding ways to escape his fate.
Alex even locked himself in a secluded cabin where he safety-proofed every object. During the film's climax, he gave his life to save Clear Rivers though he was resuscitated.
Final Destination 2, however, revealed Alex's ultimate fate. Clear explained to the sequel's protagonist that Browning was killed by a falling brick. In a series known for its elaborate accidents, death by brick just seemed underwhelming.
