10 Movie Characters Who Just Needed To Listen To Reason
4. Sarah Harding - The Lost World: Jurassic Park
No one ever seems to learn that if you keep going back to the islands that are inhabited by the greatest predators to have ever walked the face of the earth, bad things are going to happen. Had just a little bit of common sense been exercised, none of the Jurassic Park movies would ever have happened.
Arguably, one of the worst examples of this was Julianne Moore's Sarah Harding, who in The Lost World: Jurassic Park, voluntarily traveled to Isla Sorna to document dinosaurs roaming freely with no fences to keep her safe.
Her motivations were understandable to a degree, in that she was the best at what she did and this was a chance to do something that no one else would ever get to do. On the other hand, she was Ian Malcolm's (Jeff Goldblum) partner, someone who no doubt would have told her of the horrors that happened to him at the hands of the dinosaurs at Jurassic Park.
Even once they were on the island, and Malcolm had traveled there to rescue her, she didn't heed his warnings. Worse still, she lambasted him for coming to save her from being eaten by dinosaurs and not from dinner with his parents. Seriously, all she had to do was listen to her partner, someone who had seen these creatures in the flesh and whom she was supposed to trust, and she would never have put herself in such danger.
