10 Movie Characters Who Look Nothing Like Their Comic-Book Versions

8. Doctor Poison - Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman is the best-reviewed movie in the DC Extended Universe by a significant margin, and it's also one of the better comic-book movies, in any universe, to be released in recent years.

But still, like most other movies in its genre, one of its weaker points was the way it portrayed its villains.

The trio of Ludendorff, Ares and Doctor Poison were given so little screen time that none managed to be wholly effective, their motives reduced to "I want to be bad and destroy things", which was fitting for a movie that takes place in World War I, but didn't give the characters any colour or make them interesting in the slightest.

And while Ares' design was more or less identical to the source material, the same cannot be said of Doctor Poison.

The costume worn by the movie version was a simple white mask that covered the lower part of her face, where the comic version sports a full-body suit that's either dark black or bright green in colour, with her entire face hidden from view.

This version of Doctor Poison is a lot more theatrical than the movie's relatively grounded approach to its character design, so it wouldn't have worked in the DCEU.

But it is disappointing that the movie interpretation didn't receive a more creative costume, which would have made the character a bit more memorable than she was.
