2. Ruby Rhod - The Fifth Element (1997)
Columbia PicturesThe Fifth Element is an ambitious and ultimately hugely entertaining sci-fi action movie, becoming the highest-grossing French movie in history with box office takings of almost $265m. Featuring some stunning production design and costumes, the movie's only major misstep comes in the shape of Chris Tucker's Ruby Rhod, quite possibly the single most irritating character in the history of cinema. Oh, and his hair sucks too. Tucker dials his usual schtick up to way past eleven, and even though the character is supposed to be over-the-top the actor's constant screeching renders him an incredibly annoying nuisance more than anything else. Ruby Rhod's hair also somehow manages to be even more ridiculous than his costume; a bleach-blonde, disturbingly phallic monstrosity that looks like the wardrobe department ran out of money and just covered a roll of toilet paper and stuck it to his forehead and hoped nobody would notice.
