10. Doug Bukowski (The Hills Have Eyes)
Doug Bukowski is travelling from Cleveland, Ohio to San Diego, California with his wife and her family in a large camper van, when a hidden spike strip punctures the tyres. What follows is an horrific ordeal whereby a gang of mutants - deformed by nuclear testing in the area years prior to the film's events - attack, torture, rape, kidnap and kill members of the family in horrible ways, as well as killing and eating one of the family dogs. Doug, a mild-mannered slight man who looks like he might work in I.T. fixing server issues, obviously flips out due to these horrific events and sets out with the remaining family dog to retrieve his kidnapped baby and to kill the mutants responsible for the devastation. In one of the great character transformations in horror movie history, Doug kills the mutants using a screwdriver, a flagpole, an axe and a shotgun in an awesome display of bad-assery, proving himself to be one tough son of a gun, despite his timid appearance.
