10 Movie Deaths That Ruined Your Childhood

Let's get all the negatives out of the way. Is Hook the greatest movie ever made? No. Is Rufio the most likeable character in the world? Not really. But he's still a kid, and it's always hard to watch kids die in movies.

The fact that this violent death happens in Neverland also makes it even more shocking and devastating. It's a fantasy world where you can have daring adventures with pirates and sure, maybe some close scrapes, but the idea of getting skewered by Captain Hook is a little tonally off the mark.

But that's what happens to poor little Rufio.

He's a leader to the Lost Boys, but as he lies on the ground dying, he seems so incredibly young. And while he was kind of a jerk at the beginning of the film, he and his weird little punk haircut grew on us all as time went on, and he definitely didn't deserve an ending like that.
