10 Movie Deaths We All Wanted (But Never Got)

4. Amy Dunne - Gone Girl

Gone Girl
20th Century Fox

Although Amy Dunne has become somewhat of an icon for female empowerment - lord knows how considering she's fundamentally a murdering psychopath - we were on her side initially.

For the first half of the film, Amy is missing presumed dead with all eyes slowly being turned to her husband, Nick, as the potential killer. Gradually more and more evidence is uncovered that transitions from suspicious to damning.

It is revealed that they had been struggling financially, there had been an attempt to clean the crime scene, Nick had cheated on her, Amy was pregnant unbeknownst to Nick, and a diary is found in which Amy documents all of this and more; Amy fears that Nick will kill her.

With Nick's arrest imminent, we switch perspectives to Amy, who is most definitely still alive.

It turned out that almost all of the above listed had been conducted by Amy as an elaborate plan to get back at Nick for being a terrible husband.

Alas, it all comes crashing down around her when she discovers that she still has feelings for Nick, and to ensure she gets back into his life, she pretends she had been kidnapped and raped by her ex-boyfriend, Desi, and killed him in self-defence, despite his total innocence.

But yeah, you go girl!
