Conceptual artist Sam Taylor-Wood was 43 when she directed Nowhere Boy, the award-winning biopic which chronicled the early life of future Beatle John Lennon. In the starring role was one Aaron Johnson, then best known for playing the title part of Kick-Ass, who was 20 years old. Despite the weird imbalance of power between director and star, along with the age difference, the pair nonetheless started dating on set, announced their engagement at the film's premiere in October 2009, and then married at Babington House, Somerset on 21 June 2012, both taking the name Taylor-Johnson. They've also had two daughters together, Wylda Rae (born 7 July 2010) and Romy Hero (born 18 January 2012). So, erm, good for them? Besides the 23 year age difference, it must've been a little weird hooking up whilst making a film that was mainly about Aaron Johnson's Lennon having weird mother issues, something which was on display throughout his songwriting for The Beatles and his solo career. Whatever, they seem pretty happy, so good for them; Johnson has called his wife the "strongest woman I know" and claimed she helped him through a dark period in his early twenties, and Wood noted "I've made lots of big decisions in my life that have shocked people. I've never really thought of other people's opinions, so why start now?" Which is...you know what, it's fair enough. Who cares about age difference when these two actually seem pretty well matched? Wonder how much of Fifty Shades Of Grey will be autobiographical...
