2. Stanley Kubrick
Stanley Kubrick was a madman. Genius? Yes. One of the greatest filmmakers of all-time? Undoubtedly. But he was crazy. A perfectionist in the purest sense, the stories about the seemingly endless productions of his films are almost unbelievable. He managed to set Guinness World Records for longest shoots, and most takes for a scene. He would tirelessly work to make his films just the way he wanted them, and he wouldn't stop until he felt he had enough information. During the making of 2001: A Space Odyssey, Kubrick worked alongside science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke (who wrote the short story 2001 was based on), and probed him for information. Clarke once stated, "Every time I get through a session with Stanley, I have to go lie down." A film revolving around any of his movies would be amazing, but something about The Shining greatly interests me. Kubrick put the cast through a lot, and it would serve as a nice companion piece to the actual picture.
