6. Cabin Fever (2002)

The virus in Cabin Fever does not have a name but it seems to be a flesh eating virus that makes the infected vomit blood and die an agonising death. It was originally spread to patient zero - a hermit by a dead dog. When the youngsters arrive at the cabin they hold a camp fire and the now very poorly hermit comes to hassle them, vomiting blood all over their car. Trying to get rid of him, the hermit is accidentally set on fire by the group. His body is later found floating in a reservoir - thus contaminating drinking water. One by one, the youngsters succumb to the virus showing symptoms of vomiting blood and rotting flesh. Jeff hightails it to the forest with some beer. When he gets back, he is initially upset by the carnage the disease has wrought on his friends but realises he has survived. Whooping with joy he is suddenly shot down by the police who burn his body in a pile along with the others. However one of the group's body has been left in a creek and we see children making lemonade out of the water and a big lorry carrying off bottles of water from the creek. After witnessing the havoc of the disease, it is definitely one infection you would rather not pick up unless you fancy your skin sloughing off your body and a spell of bloody vomiting resulting in inevitable death
