Spanning over a decade, Marvel's cinematic universe is bursting with more Easter Eggs than it has heroes. And with a fan base as big as Marvel's, internet detectives are soon able to uncover every hidden reference each entry has to offer.

However, there are even some references that are too obscure for even the most seasoned comic book fan, with one such reference appearing in Avengers: Endgame.

In the sequence in which Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) and Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) time travel back to the 1970s to get their hands on some Pym Particles, the pair disguise themselves in military uniforms. Take a closer look at the name tag on Cap's outfit and you'll discover the uniform belongs to someone named Roscoe.

Of course, no detail in this series is accidental. It transpires that Roscoe is a character who appeared in the comics in the 70s who took up the mantle of Captain America when Rogers retired.

Unfortunately, it wasn't a happy ending for this short-lived substitute as he was soon dispatched by villain Red Skull who believed he was Rogers.

It's rather bleak as MCU Easter Eggs go, but it's good that this obscure hero got some recognition.
