3. A Beautiful Mind
In the mood for a psychological thriller but not wanting to hear your friends gushing over why Fight Club is the greatest movie of all time after The Dark Knight, you opted to enjoy a lower-key movie that you hadnt gotten around to seeing like A Beautiful Mind instead. To your relief, your friends complaints at first stuck to how much of a hack Ron Howard is and how Ron Howards daughter shouldnt have been in Spider-Man 3 and only got in because Ron Howard is a hack. But as Act Two got going, your friend stopped. His eyebrows twitched and crinkled a bit as he caught on to something to notice, especially since, as was alluded to in the Vanilla Sky section, like all of our friends with these personality traits, he has a particular affection for figuring out if things in a movie are really happening or not. He started pointing out inconsistencies in the world around Russell Crowes character. Why isnt anyone else talking to his friend? Why arent the pigeons flying away from his friends daughter? Why isnt his friends daughter getting old? This cant be real! What? Oh, I said it cant be real. See? Here, let me rewind it and show you what I noticed. I bet Im right. Here, look.
