Anthony Hopkins is a statuesque actor whose presence typically draws immediate attention to itself, but did you know that he actually had a secret role in Stanley Kubrick's epic 1960 historical drama Spartacus?

While Hopkins, who would've been in his early twenties when Spartacus was being shot, wasn't present for the actual shoot, he was inserted into the film for its 1991 restoration.

This restoration added a scene back into the story where General Crassus (Laurence Olivier) attempts to seduce his slave Antoninus (Tony Curtis) in a bath house, which was removed upon original release due to objections over "decency."

But the audio for the scene was now missing, and while Tony Curtis was able to re-record his own dialogue for Antoninus, Laurence Olivier had passed away two years prior, leaving Crassus without a voice.

That is, until Olivier's widow Joan Plowright recommended Anthony Hopkins to re-dub her late husband's dialogue, due to both his penchant for mimicry and having been a protégé of Olivier's during his youth.

While you'll likely notice Hopkins' distinctive voice in the scene if you watch it will full knowledge of his involvement, it's still a rock solid attempt at impersonating the legendary actor.
