2. James Bond Purists
What They Think: "Give me the cheesy dialogue and casual sexism back! I don't like realism and thrilling action!" 99% of this subset will be comprised of ours dads, uncles and grandfathers, who insist that the classic James Bond films - specifically those starring Sean Connery and Roger Moore - are the best that the franchise ever had to offer. They were basically offended by the Daniel Craig update, despite the fact that these newer films boast slicker cinematography, better acting, more intense action, more complex narratives and on the whole are far more visceral, entertaining encounters. This isn't to diminish the brilliant work of Connery in particular, but to criticise the franchise for moving with the times rather than being an anachronistic relic is churlish and silly. The gritty Bond reboot has, however, been a huge success on the whole, so these persnickety types seem to largely be in the minority.
