10 Movie Franchises That Screwed Up Their Final Part

7. The Hangover: Part 3

Predator 2
20th Century Fox

The first Hangover was wonderful. There’s laughs galore as Bradley Cooper, Zac Galifanakis and Ed Helms battle to regain their memories and pride after a crazy night of partying in Las Vegas.

But by the time the third and final film was released five years after the first, the laughs have dried up with the same gags failing to amuse an audience all too aware of how much they, like the films, have aged within the same timespan.

The third tries to recapture the glory days of the first. The Wolfpack are sent back to Las Vegas charged with the task of securing gold bars swiped by the not-funny-anymore Leslie Chow and, unsurprisingly, things go wrong from the very start as the leading trio get caught up in situations that are unsurprising, uninteresting and unfunny. This film garners few reactions with things that were amusing five years ago simply lacking the originality its first instalment boasted back in 2008.

Also, there’s no hangover. Because there’s no drinking.

Besides that which was taken as medicine directly after viewing by pained audiences. It ends with Galifanakis’ character Alan getting married and tries to justify its title by throwing in a scene of all the boys hungover but this time, nobody wants to know what happened.

Sport and Film. I love them both. And I'm extremely lucky to write about two of my biggest passions in life. Most of the time, I'm at the Daily Express newspaper writing about football, tennis and F1. But, when I'm out of there, I let my imagination run wild and pen down my thoughts on the film series' I love. WhatCulture gives me the chance to write about the movie industry - an industry I really care about. And for that, I'm extremely grateful. And hope you, if you're reading this, enjoy what I think about stuff.
