10 Movie Happy Endings That Ignored One Devastating Thing

4. The Coachman Still Kidnaps Kids - Pinocchio

The Coachman Pinocchio
Disney

The Happy Ending

Having escaped Pleasure Island and avoiding becoming a donkey, as well as escaping Monstro the whale and finally becoming a real boy, Pinocchio gets his happy ending (even though he temporarily dies along the way for a while).

Roll credits, everything is right in the world!

But Wait...

What about all of the other real little boys who didn't have a conscience or a Blue Fairy to save them? Because Pinocchio isn't the only one who ends up at Pleasure Island thanks to the coercion of the sinister coachman. Sure, they're classed as "naughty boys" (though it's a VERY broad definition if Pinocchio qualifies), but they definitely don't deserve to be turned into animals and forced to work in salt mines.

And even though Pinocchio escapes, hundreds of others don't and the Coachman is still free to go about his kidnapping business to keep the mines stocked with workers. Couldn't have Pinocchio at least told someone?
