10 Movie Heroes Completely Outmatched By The Villain

6. Thor Vs. Hela - Thor: Ragnarok

For the first two movies, Thor's solo franchise didn't exactly boast the most powerful villains of the MCU. Loki and Malekith were both dispatched fairly easily, and even Kurse - who could've been one of the physically strongest antagonists in the series - left a lot to be desired.

In Thor: Ragnarok however, Hela stepped the game up.

Imagine a villain so powerful that the only way to stop her was for her own father to banish her to Hel. Then, imagine that father's death, allowing the Goddess of Death to roam free once again, with a rather large chip on her shoulder for good measure.

Hela showed Thor and Loki who was boss in Norway when she destroyed Mjolnir with barely a sweat, and she only got stronger as she came closer to home, drawing more and more power from Asgard. By the time she reached the Realm Eternal, she and her army of Berserkers were damn near unstoppable.

Thor even admitted that he could never defeat his sister - he simply wasn't strong enough. Instead, he and his brother were forced to bring about a mountain-sized Surtur to destroy all of Asgard, and Hela with it. Even superheroes have to outsource sometimes.
