10 Movie Heroes That Really Suck At Saving People

6. Max is Late To The Party - Mad Max (1979)

Mad MaxWarner Bros.Maintaining law and order in a crumbling society is no easy task, and the next hero on our list isn€™t up to the challenge. In 1979€™s Mad Max, Mel Gibson plays Max Rockatansky, a member of the Main Force Patrol: a police force tasked with protecting highways from marauding motorcycle gangs that are wreaking havoc in a dystopian Australia. After his closet friend dies horrifically in the line of duty, Max decides to call it quits and relocates his family to the country where they can live in peace. This turns out to be a terrible call. The Rockatansky clan barely has a chance to settle in before they bring down the wrath of an unruly cycle gang lead by the evil Toecutter. When Max takes off to run some errands, Toecutter€™s hooligans descend on his homestead. Max finds out his family is in peril and races to save the day but totally misses the boat. His family is run down in the street moments before Max arrives. Max might be a badass, but he fails his family when it matters most. For a hero-cop a screw up like that is unacceptable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2x8RhadlpA Say what you will about Max's inability to protect the ones he cares about the most, but he's damn good at getting revenge:
