8. Never Ignore Ian Malcolm - Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

In Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the world was still healing from the devastation that the ill-advised dinosaur theme park Jurassic World caused. Although the park was abandoned, the dinosaur clones still roamed free on the island but their very existence came under threat with reports that the peninsula's volcano was ready to erupt. Motivated by their love for the dinosaurs, Owen and Claire set out to lead a team to evacuate as many of the dinosaurs and their embryos as they could.

Why they shouldn't have bothered: As harsh as it sounds, they should have just let the dinosaurs die. Like Ian Malcolm said in both the original Jurassic Park and again in this film, the dinosaurs had their chance but died out and then, a dormant volcano miraculously came to life to wipe them out again. How many more signs did they need that their time was up?

The consequence: Apart from the countless people eaten alive after the rescue mission went wrong and the dinosaurs being sold on the black market, the post-credits sequence showed that some dinosaurs had made it to the mainland and would somehow have to elbow their way into the world's eco-system.
