10 Movie Heroes Who Might As Well Have Stayed At Home

3. Shaun Should Have Ditched The Winchester - Shaun Of The Dead

In the 2004 rom/zom/com Shaun Of The Dead, Shaun and his best mate Ed tried their best to survive the impending z-word apocalypse. In a desperate attempt to rescue those he held dear, Shaun took Ed, his mum, Liz, Dianne and David to their trusty local - the Winchester, to wait for it all to blow over.

Why he shouldn't have bothered: The initial plan to take everyone to Liz's house would have been perfect. Her flat was in a high rise building, which made it nearly impossible for the zombies to gain access to it. Instead, Shaun listened to Ed and opted for The Winchester because he wanted to be able to smoke and know where the exits were.

The consequences: Instead of just staying put at Liz's, the gang ended up in The Winchester, but along the way, Shaun's mum and Ed were bitten whilst David was torn limb from limb after the zombies broke through the windows. Dianne grabbed one of David's limbs and legged it (heh!) into the crowd of zombies. When the military finally arrived, only Liz and Shaun were left unzombified.
