10 Movie Heroes Who Might As Well Have Stayed At Home

2. Indy Led The Nazis Right To The Ark - Raiders Of The Lost Ark

This one is straight out of the wonderful mind of the Big Bang Theory's Amy Farrah Fowler, after she made the realisation that Indiana Jones' presence didn't make a single difference to the outcome of the movie. When Indy learned that the Nazis were in search of the Ark Of The Covenant under Hitler's orders, he traveled to Egypt to try and beat them to it.

Why he shouldn't have bothered: Indy didn't hinder the Nazis' progress at all in finding the ark; in fact, he lead them right to it. Not that it mattered anyway, considering they found it, opened it and had their faces melted off because that's what happens when you look God directly in the face.

The consequences: Indy didn't really make much of a dent in the Nazis' plans, but instead he put himself, Marion and Sallah in a tremendous amount of danger. Also a monkey ate a poisonous date because of him. No matter how evil a monkey may be, dead monkeys aren't fun.

I see my role at WhatCulture the same way my wife sees my role as a lover: I contribute in a very small way, my presence is barely noticeable and I’m not entirely sure if the laughter is at me or with me.
