3. Chris & Rod - Get Out
The end of Jordan Peele's wonderful Get Out comes with not one but two major subversions. Firstly, Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) manages to do what the title demands of him, escaping the Armitages. The second sees his expected arrest after Rose is shot by Walter twisted away when it turns out that it's not a police car coming to get him but his friend Rod (Lil Rel Howery) arriving to rescue him.
They drive off and that is that, apparently as it seems Chris' escape would uncover the Order of the Coagula and stop any more body-snatchings.
But Wait...
Even though the cop-ending is subverted, tat doesn't mean it isn't where this is all headed. As soon as the local police discover the trail of white bodies left behind Chris and Rod, the racist institutions the film seeks to deconstruct will no doubt come into play.
There's only one real outcome to the ending and that's Chris and Rod's innocence not mattering and them being gunned down for their part in a supposed mass killing.
