Fans of the James Bond franchise recall a particular scene from Dr. No that is difficult to forget. The scene in question wasn't Bond's way of introducing himself or his preferred way of making a martini, it was the moment when the gorgeous Ursula Andress emerged from the ocean wearing a white bikini.

That scene had lasting impacts on world culture and even helped to increase the sale of bikinis across the planet. Prior to that moment, one-piece swimsuits were all the rage, but after, beaches were full of women wearing the popular two-piece bikini.

Andress' unveiling from the ocean didn't just affect the fashion industry in 1962, it also helped to craft an accidental scene shot for the 2006 film Casino Royale. Fans were skeptical of seeing Danial Craig portray the British secret agent pretty much right up until the moment he emerged from the water to reveal his rather statuesque physique. The only catch: that scene wasn't planned at all.

Originally, the shot was meant to be filmed quite differently with Bond positioned to look on at the villain's wife Solange while he floated in the ocean, but the reality of the location stepped in and changed everything. In an interview with The Telegraph, Craig explained what happened:

“Where we filmed, off the Bahamas, it’s just one of those places where there is a sand shelf and the sand shelf happens to be three feet deep. Because the idea was, I was supposed to swim in and sort of float off, but I swim in and stand up. And it was just one of those things.”
