After the tragedy that was the Sandy Hook school shooting, Jim Carrey - who plays former Mafia man turned crime fighter Colonel Star and Stripes in underwhelming sequel Kick-Ass 2 - decided that he didn't agree with all the violence in the movie, and refused to do any publicity. What didn't go down well with the fanboys, however, was the fact that it took a recent shooting for Carrey to decide that he didn't want to promote a violent movie - what about all the other shootings? The world (and the movie's director, in fact) were quick to jump on Carrey's case, and it's pretty understandable as to why they felt pretty confused by the whole thing. Jim Carrey had to have been aware that Kick-Ass 2 was an immensely violent movie - it was a sequel, after all! But the idea that the actor turned on the film despite the fact that there have been lots and lots of school shootings and that he must have known what the movie was about left a sour taste in the mouths of fans.
