10 Movie Moments That Pissed Fanboys Off The Most In 2015

4. Quicksilver Dies - Avengers: Age Of Ultron

The Moment: Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) runs in front of Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and a young boy to protect them from Ultron's (James Spader) hail of bullets, sacrificing himself in the process and dying unexpectedly. Why The Fanboys Hate It: Because if there was anyone you expected to die in Age Of Ultron, it sure as hell wasn't one of the two new Avengers members they just introduced in this very movie. To writer-director Joss Whedon's credit, he deliberately toyed with expectations, convincing audiences that Hawkeye was going to be the one to die at the end (what with us learning about his family and planning to retire from the Avengers), only for him to be saved at the last moment by one of the newbies. Now, it does make some weird sense to kill Quicksilver off rather than pretty much anyone else, considering that he already had a pretty damn awesome treatment in the X-Men franchise, but at the same time, for those who hold the Marvel Cinematic Universe in far higher esteem than Bryan Singer's X-Men movies, it was frustrating that the character was eliminated from the equation so fast. Seeing him help take care of business in Avengers: Infinity War would've been awesome, and though the fanciful magic of the MCU means that he could potentially be resurrected sometime down the line, don't count on it. Quicksilver was probably a "one and done" for the MCU, and plenty of people are pretty damn upset about it.
