10 Movie Moments That Were Almost WAY Darker

4. Thanos Walks On A River Of Blood - Avengers: Infinity War

Watching 'The Mad Titan' talk to his deceased daughter within the Soul World after snapping away half of the life in the universe was already pretty dark. But things were nearly even more harrowing.

That's because Thanos was originally supposed to be seen walking through an actual river of blood, with that red liquid intended to represent the blood of his many victims.

It may have seemed as though it couldn't possibly get much darker than witnessing your favourite heroes crumbling to dust and the person responsible having a quick chat with the adoptive child he threw off the edge of a cliff. But according to VFX Supervisor Dan DeLeeuw (via /Film), this particular sequence "got a bit dark" to the point where the team decided to go with a less unsettling visual in the finished scene.

This wasn't the only Thanos moment cut out of Infinity War either, with the character's creator Jim Starlin recently revealing to Near Mint Condition that the big bad would've been involved in a 45-minute sequence that would've shown him getting his hands on the first Infinity Stone.
